It is made of many pieces of marble and is the tallest building in the city. When you stand at the bottom, you have to look all the way up to see the top! Inside, there is an elevator that can take you to the very peak. From the windows at the top, you can see the whole city and the beautiful Lincoln Memorial far below.
People from all over the world come to visit this special landmark and remember our first president. The monument reminds us of the courage and leadership of George Washington. It is one of the most famous landmarks in all of America.
