Deserts and rainforests are two very different places on Earth. A desert is a very dry place that does not get much rain. A rainforest is a big, green forest that gets lots and lots of rain. Both are home to amazing plants and animals!
Deserts are often very hot during the day, with tall, prickly cactus plants and sand dunes. Animals like camels and lizards are good at living in the heat. Rainforests have trees that grow so tall they almost touch the clouds! Colorful birds like parrots and silly monkeys that swing from branch to branch live there.
- Some deserts can even get cold when the moon comes out at night!
- The Amazon Rainforest is so big that it covers nine countries.
- Rainforests are home to more than half of all the plant and animal species on Earth!
