Earth is a big home with many different places to see! Some places are very hot, and some are very cold. The temperature depends on how close a place is to the middle of the Earth, called the Equator.
In the middle of our world, near the Equator, it stays very hot and sunny all year long. In these warm places, you might find tall green trees and colorful birds. At the very top and very bottom of our Earth are the North and South Poles, and they are very cold! Animals like fluffy polar bears and waddling penguins love to play in these chilly, snowy lands.
- The Equator feels like a never-ending summer!
- The North Pole can get as cold as 40 degrees below zero.
- Penguins live at the South Pole, but polar bears live at the North Pole, so they never meet in the wild!
