Norway is a long, narrow country in Northern Europe. The capital city is Oslo. People there speak Norwegian. Norway has deep valleys carved by ice called fjords, with steep cliffs on both sides and water at the bottom.
In the summer, parts of Norway get sunlight all day and all night. This is called the midnight sun. In the winter, those same places can be dark for weeks. On clear winter nights, you can see the Northern Lights, which are colorful bands of light dancing across the sky. Norway is home to reindeer, moose, and Arctic foxes.
- Many Norwegians love to ski, and kids learn to ski almost as soon as they can walk!
- Long ago, Vikings lived in Norway.
- They were sailors who built fast wooden ships and traveled all across the ocean.
- Norway also has some of the longest tunnels in the world.
