The rhinoceros is a big, strong animal with thick gray skin. Most people call it a rhino for short. They might look scary, but rhinos mostly just want to be left alone.
Rhinos have one or two horns on their nose that are made of the same stuff as your fingernails. They have thick, bumpy skin that looks like armor. Rhinos are one of the biggest animals that live on land.
Rhinos eat grass and leaves. Some rhinos have a pointy lip for grabbing leaves off bushes. Other rhinos have a wide, flat lip for eating grass from the ground.
