North points to the very top of the world, and South points all the way to the bottom. When you look at a map, North is at the top and South is at the bottom. The sun helps us find East and West! Every morning, the sun wakes up in the East, and every evening, the sun goes to sleep in the West.
- If you want to remember all four directions, you can say “Never Eat Soggy Waffles!” A compass is a special tool that always points North.
