The Atlantic Ocean is the second largest ocean in the world. It stretches between North America and South America on one side and Europe and Africa on the other side. It covers about 41 million square miles. That is almost as big as all the land on Earth put together!

The Atlantic Ocean has a giant underwater mountain range called the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. It runs right down the middle of the ocean floor. Humpback whales, sea turtles, and bluefin tuna all swim in these waters. Manatees live in the warm, shallow parts near Florida.

The Atlantic Ocean stretches from the Arctic in the north all the way down to Antarctica in the south. It separates the Americas from Europe and Africa.
