The Alps are the biggest mountain range in Europe. They stretch across eight countries, including France, Switzerland, Italy, and Austria. The tallest peak is Mont Blanc, which stands 15,774 feet tall. That is higher than 300 school buses stacked on top of each other!
The Alps are covered in snow for much of the year. Many people visit to ski and snowboard. Animals like chamois, ibex, and marmots live in the Alps. Chamois are like mountain goats that can leap across rocky cliffs. Golden eagles fly high above the peaks looking for food.
