New York City is the biggest city in the United States. About 8.3 million people live there, and they speak over 800 different languages. The city has five parts called boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island.

The Statue of Liberty stands on an island in New York Harbor. It was a gift from France in 1886. The statue is 305 feet tall from the ground to the tip of her torch. Central Park is a huge green park right in the middle of Manhattan, with playgrounds, a zoo, and a big lake.

New York City is on the east coast of the United States, where the Hudson River meets the Atlantic Ocean. It sits at the southern tip of New York State.
