The bullfrog is one of the biggest frogs in North America. It gets its name because its deep call sounds like a bull! You can often hear bullfrogs singing near ponds and lakes.
Bullfrogs are large, green frogs with big, round eardrums on the sides of their heads. They have powerful back legs built for jumping. Bullfrogs can be as big as a dinner plate!
Bullfrogs eat bugs, small fish, and almost anything that fits in their big mouth. They sit very still and wait for food to come close, then snap it up with their sticky tongue. Bullfrogs are not picky eaters at all.
