The piranha is a small fish with very sharp teeth! It lives in rivers in the rainforest. Even though they look scary, most piranhas are actually shy and like to eat plants and seeds.
Piranhas are usually about as big as your hand. They have a flat, round body and a mouth full of razor-sharp teeth. Piranhas can be silver, gray, or even reddish on their bellies.
Most piranhas eat plants, seeds, and small fish. Their teeth are so sharp they can bite through almost anything! Some piranhas eat fruit that falls into the river from trees above.
