The anaconda is one of the biggest snakes in the world! It can grow up to 30 feet long! Anacondas live in the rivers and swamps of the South American rainforest.
Anacondas have green and brown skin that helps them hide in the water and mud. They are very heavy snakes and can weigh as much as a grown-up person. Their eyes and nose sit on top of their head so they can peek above the water.
- Anacondas squeeze their food in a big hug before they eat it.
- They can swallow animals much bigger than their head because their jaws can stretch open very wide.
- Anacondas can hold their breath underwater for up to ten minutes!
