If you look at the Moon through binoculars, you can see it is covered in bumpy circles called craters! These craters were made when space rocks smashed into the Moon a long time ago. Some craters are tiny, and some are enormous.
- There are millions of craters on the Moon.
- The dark spots you can see on the Moon are actually giant, flat areas that filled with melted rock from ancient volcanoes long ago.
- Earth has craters too, but rain, wind, and plants cover most of them up over time!
