NASA stands for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. It is the United States’ space agency! NASA sends astronauts to space, builds rockets and spacecraft, and studies the universe. It is one of the most famous space organizations in the whole world.
NASA was created in 1958 and has done many big things since then. NASA sent the first Americans to space and the first people to walk on the Moon. NASA built the Space Shuttle and helped build the International Space Station. Today, NASA is working on plans to send people back to the Moon and eventually to Mars!
- NASA has centers all around the United States where thousands of people work.
- The most famous one is the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, where rockets launch from.
- NASA also studies Earth’s weather and climate using satellites in space!
