We have sent robot spacecraft to visit every planet in our solar system! No people have traveled to other planets yet, but our space probes and rovers have flown past, orbited, and even landed on some of them. Each visit has taught us amazing things.
Spacecraft have flown past Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Rovers have driven around on Mars and taken thousands of pictures. Probes have orbited Jupiter and Saturn for years, studying their moons and rings. We even sent a probe to land on Titan, one of Saturn’s moons!
- The Voyager 2 spacecraft is the only one that has visited all four outer planets: Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.
- No human has ever been farther than the Moon.
- Scientists are planning future missions to explore the icy moons of Jupiter and Saturn, where there might be hidden oceans!
