Money is a special tool we use to get things we need and want! We use it to buy yummy snacks at the store or fun toys to play with. People earn money by working hard at their jobs. Money can be shiny coins like pennies and quarters, or green paper bills!
When you want to buy something, you give the right amount of money to the person selling it. Every piece of money has a different value. A nickel is worth more than a penny, and a dollar is worth more than a quarter. It is very smart to save your money in a piggy bank or a jar! When you save a little bit at a time, you can buy something extra special later.
