Goods are things that people make or grow that you can touch and use! Your shoes, your backpack, and even your favorite cereal are all goods. Some goods come from nature, like apples from trees or milk from cows. Other goods are made in factories, like crayons and bicycles.
People work hard to make the goods we use every day. A farmer grows vegetables in the field, and then a truck driver brings them to the grocery store. A toy maker builds dolls and action figures in a factory so kids can play with them. We buy goods at stores so we can use them at home and at school. Every good you see has a story about how it was made and how it got to you!
- There are two kinds of goods: natural goods that come from the earth and manufactured goods that people make.
- A single pencil needs wood from a tree, graphite from the ground, rubber from a plant, and metal from a mine.
- Next time you use something, think about all the people who helped make it!
