Hanukkah is a happy holiday called the Festival of Lights. It lasts for eight nights! Each night, families light a candle on a special candle holder called a menorah. They use one tall “helper” candle to light all the others.
Families celebrate Hanukkah by playing games and eating yummy treats. One fun game uses a spinning top called a dreidel. Many people also eat crispy potato pancakes called latkes and sweet jelly donuts. Hanukkah is a wonderful time to share gifts and spend time with family and friends!
