Cinco de Mayo is a happy holiday that people celebrate on May 5th! It started a long time ago in Mexico when a small Mexican army won a big battle against a much larger French army in the city of Puebla. Now, it is a special day to celebrate Mexican culture.
People watch big parades with colorful dancers and listen to cheerful music called Mariachi. They also eat yummy food like tacos and chips with salsa. Some children even hit a pinata to find sweet treats inside. People all over the world join in the fun with their friends and family!
