Italy is a country in southern Europe that is shaped like a boot! It is famous for its delicious food, beautiful art, and ancient buildings. The capital city is Rome, and people have lived there for thousands of years. Italy is a wonderful place full of history and yummy things to eat!

Italy has sunny beaches, snowy mountains, and rolling hills covered with vineyards. In the city of Venice, there are no roads for cars, so people travel by boat through canals! Rome has the Colosseum, a giant arena where people watched shows long, long ago. The Leaning Tower of Pisa is a tall tower that tilts to one side, and visitors love to take funny photos with it. Italy is warm and sunny for much of the year!
