In 1963, Valentina flew into space on Vostok 6 and spent nearly three days orbiting the Earth. She was only 26 years old when she made her historic flight! When it was time to come back to Earth, she had to jump out of her spaceship and parachute safely to the ground. No other woman would fly to space for another 19 years after Valentina’s flight!
