Elvis Presley was one of the most famous singers in the whole world! People called him the “King of Rock and Roll” because his music was so exciting and new. He loved to sing, dance, and perform on stage. His music made people want to get up and move! He is still one of the best-selling musicians of all time.

Elvis was born in Tupelo, Mississippi in 1935. His family did not have a lot of money, but they loved music. Elvis liked to sing at church when he was a little boy. When he was 11, his mother gave him a guitar as a birthday gift and he taught himself how to play! A couple of years later, his family moved to Memphis, Tennessee.
