Beatrix Potter was a wonderful artist and storyteller who loved animals! She created some of the most beloved children’s books in the world. Kids everywhere still read and love her magical stories today!

Beatrix was born in 1866 in London, England. When she was a little girl, she kept frogs, mice, and even a pet rabbit named Peter! She loved to draw pictures of her furry friends doing funny things, like wearing tiny blue jackets. Because she watched animals so closely, her beautiful paintings looked just like the real thing.

Beatrix wrote stories to go with her wonderful pictures, and her most famous book is all about the silly adventures of Peter Rabbit! She wrote and illustrated over 20 little books that children all over the world adore. When she grew up, she bought a huge farm in the English countryside where she could protect sheep and other animals. She left her farms to the country so they would be kept beautiful forever!
