John Lewis was a brave hero who spent his whole life fighting for fairness and love! He believed in doing what he called “good trouble,” which meant standing up for what is right in a peaceful way. His big heart and brave spirit helped change our country for the better.
John marched with his friends to demand that everyone get to vote and be treated equally. He helped lead a famous march across a bridge in Selma, Alabama, for voting rights. Later, John became a very important leader in the U.S. Congress, where he made new laws to help people for over 30 years. He always reminded us to be kind and to never give up on making the world a better place.
