Stars go through many different stages during their lives. They’re born in giant clouds of gas and dust called nebulae. Over millions of years, the gas and dust start to clump together and eventually become a star!
As a star gets older, it starts to change its color and size. Some stars eventually become very big and even explode as supernovae! Others slowly cool down and become white dwarfs.
