How Things Are Made

Have you ever wondered how your favorite things are made? Many things start as raw materials from nature. Cotton from plants is turned into soft clothes. Wood from trees is turned into tables, chairs, and even paper! Sand can be melted down to make glass for windows and bottles. It is amazing how people can take something from nature and turn it into something useful!

Some things are made by hand, and some things are made by machines in big buildings called factories. A baker uses their hands to shape bread dough before baking it in an oven. But cars are put together by big machines and many workers in a factory. It takes lots of steps and many people working together to make the things we use every day. From the farmer who grows the cotton to the worker who sews your shirt, many hands help along the way!
