Deserts and Rainforests

A desert is a very dry place that does not get much rain. It is often very hot during the day, and the sun shines bright! You might see tall, prickly cactus plants and sand dunes that look like waves in the ocean. Animals like camels and lizards love the desert because they are good at living in the heat. Some deserts can even get cold when the moon comes out at night!

A rainforest is a big, green forest that gets lots and lots of rain. The trees grow so tall that they almost touch the clouds! It is warm and wet, which is perfect for colorful birds like parrots and silly monkeys that swing from branch to branch. Many plants and animals call the rainforest their home. It is like a giant, leafy playground for nature!
