Diwali is a very happy holiday called the Festival of Lights! It is a special time when people in India and all over the world celebrate the win of light over darkness. Families decorate their homes with beautiful little clay lamps called diyas. These tiny lights make everything glow and look like a sparkly fairy tale!
During Diwali, everyone wears their best colorful clothes and shares yummy sweets with their friends. People also draw pretty patterns called rangoli on the floor using bright powders or flower petals. Families get together to watch colorful fireworks light up the night sky. It is a wonderful time to be kind and celebrate new beginnings with the people we love!
