The Googleplex is the main office of Google, one of the biggest technology companies in the world. It is in Mountain View, California. The name “Googleplex” is a fun mix of the words “Google” and “complex.” Thousands of people go to work there every day to help make Google Search, YouTube, and many other tools that people use on their computers and phones.
The Googleplex looks like no other office! Outside, you can find colorful bicycles that workers ride from building to building. There is a big skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus Rex dinosaur named Stan in one of the courtyards. You can also see fun statues of Android robots and giant treats like cupcakes and donuts. The buildings have gardens, outdoor eating areas, and even volleyball courts.
- The Googleplex campus has more than 60 buildings spread across the area!
- Google keeps the grounds beautiful with a special trick — they use goats to mow the grass instead of machines.
- Workers at the Googleplex can eat free breakfast, lunch, and dinner at many different cafeterias.
- The colorful Google bikes are called GBikes, and there are thousands of them on campus.
