Dreams are like amazing, colorful movies that play inside your mind while you are fast asleep! They can be silly, exciting, or completely wonderful adventures with your favorite toys and friends. Your brain makes up these stories to help you practice things or just have fun at night.
When you fall into a deep sleep, your brain starts creating pictures and stories. Sometimes you can fly, visit magical places, or play with friends. Sometimes you might have a scary dream called a nightmare, but you don’t have to worry — nightmares are not real!
If you wake up from a nightmare, a grownup can turn on the light and give you a warm hug. Talking about your dreams with your family can be really fun and interesting. You can even try drawing pictures of your favorite dreams in the morning!
- Dreams are perfectly normal and make sleeping an exciting part of your day!
- Most people have about four to six dreams every single night, but they usually forget most of them.
- Even animals dream — you might see your dog’s legs twitching in their sleep because they are dreaming about running!
