Marie Curie was a brilliant scientist who loved discovering new things! She was very curious about invisible energy and worked hard in her laboratory to study it. Marie discovered two brand new elements, which are tiny building blocks that make up everything in the world. She even coined the word “radioactivity” to describe the amazing energy they gave off!
Because of her incredible discoveries, Marie helped doctors invent special X-ray machines. These machines can take pictures of our bones to help fix them when we get hurt! She was the very first woman to win a huge award called the Nobel Prize, and she actually won it twice. Marie’s hard work and brilliant mind changed science forever!
