Mae Jemison is a brilliant doctor, engineer, and an incredibly brave astronaut! When she was a little girl, she loved watching the stars and dreamed of flying up into space. She worked very hard in school and learned all about science and how the human body works. All her hard work paid off when she got to ride in a real space shuttle!
Mae made history by becoming the very first Black woman to travel into space! While she was floating high above the Earth, she did fun science experiments to see how things act in zero gravity. Today, she travels the world encouraging kids to follow their biggest dreams. Mae proves that if you reach for the stars, you can achieve anything!
