Benjamin Franklin was a curious and super smart inventor who helped start the United States of America long ago! He loved to read and ask questions about how things worked, even when he was just a little boy. One day, he famously flew a kite with a shiny key attached to it during a thunderstorm to discover that lightning is electricity. He was also a helpful community worker who started the very first fire department and library in America!
Besides being an awesome inventor, Benjamin Franklin was a great leader who helped write important papers that made our country free! He traveled all the way to France on a big ship to ask them to be our friends and help the United States grow. Because he was so important, you can even find his face on the one hundred dollar bill today! He showed us that being curious and helping others can change the world for the better!
