Sally Ride was an amazing scientist who traveled up into space! She was the very first American woman to ever fly in a rocket ship. She loved science and math, and she worked very hard to learn all about the stars and planets. Sally was so brave to zoom past the clouds and into the dark sky!
In space, Sally floated around like a balloon because there is no gravity! She helped run a big robotic arm outside the space shuttle to grab satellites. When she came back to Earth, she wrote books to teach kids all about science. Sally showed us that girls can be amazing astronauts!
