Leif Erikson was a brave Viking explorer who sailed the cold seas! He had a big wooden ship with a striped sail and shields on the sides. Leif was a very good sailor who learned how to explore from his father, Erik the Red. He loved to find new lands and go on big adventures!
A long time ago, Leif sailed his ship all the way to North America! He called the new land Vinland because he found so many yummy wild grapes growing there. He was one of the very first explorers from Europe to visit this new place. Leif Erikson was a true Viking hero!
