Christopher Columbus was an explorer who sailed on a big ship across the ocean! A long time ago, he wanted to find a new way to travel to Asia to get spices and gold. The King and Queen of Spain gave him three special ships called the Niña, the Pinta, and the Santa María. He sailed for a very long time on the big blue sea!
After many days of sailing, Christopher and his crew finally saw land! They stepped onto a beautiful island and met the people who lived there. His long trip helped other explorers learn about new parts of the world. We still talk about his big adventure across the ocean today!
