She won 39 huge tennis championships, including a record 20 times at Wimbledon! She was so good that she became the number one player in the whole world.
But Billie Jean is also a hero off the tennis court! She worked very hard to make sure girls and women could play sports just like boys and men. She helped start groups that let women play professional tennis and even won a special medal from the President for being such a wonderful leader!
