Pablo Picasso was a brilliant artist who loved to try completely new ways of painting! When he was a little boy, his first word was even the Spanish word for pencil! He was so good at drawing that he could paint perfectly realistic pictures, but he thought that was a little boring. He decided to play with shapes and colors, painting faces from two different sides at the exact same time!
Pablo created a super fun style of art using lots of cubes and tricky shapes that looked like a jigsaw puzzle! He loved using bright colors and making art out of everyday things he found. Over his long life, he made thousands of paintings, sculptures, and drawings to share his amazing imagination. We remember Pablo for showing us that there are so many fantastic ways to make art!
