Georgia O’Keeffe was a wonderful artist who loved to look closely at nature! When she walked outside, she noticed all the tiny details in beautiful flowers and interesting rocks. She decided to paint flowers extra big so that everyone would stop and see how amazing they were! Her giant, colorful flower paintings make you feel like you are a little bug looking up at the petals.
Later in her life, Georgia moved to the desert where she painted huge skies, colorful hills, and sandy mountains! She thought the hot, quiet desert was the most beautiful place in the world. She used bright colors to show how the sunlight made the rocks glow. We remember Georgia for showing us how to slow down and see the magic in nature!
