Claudette Colvin is a very brave hero who stood up for what is right when she was just a teenager! One day, she was riding a bus home from school and the driver told her to give up her seat just because of the color of her skin. Claudette knew this was not fair at all, so she bravely said no! She wanted everyone to be treated equally, no matter what they looked like!
Claudette’s courageous choice helped start a big movement to make laws fair for all people! She showed everyone that you do not have to be a grown-up to make a huge difference in the world. Her actions remind us that we can always be brave and stand up for fairness! We celebrate Claudette for helping to make our communities better for everyone!
