Chief Joseph was a wise and loving leader of the Nez Perce Native American tribe! He loved his people very much and wanted them to live safely and happily on their beautiful lands. When others tried to force his tribe to move far away, Chief Joseph tried very hard to protect his community. He wanted everyone to live together in peace and share the earth!
Chief Joseph spoke bravely about how all people should be treated as equals and allowed to be free! Even when times were very tough, he always cared for the children and elders in his tribe.
