The saber-toothed tiger had two giant teeth that hung down from its mouth like long fangs. These teeth could be as long as a ruler! Even though we call it a tiger, it was not really a tiger at all. It lived during the Ice Age, long before there were any house cats.
Saber-toothed tigers were strong hunters. They had powerful front legs that helped them grab and hold onto their food. They were about the same size as a lion today. Scientists have found many saber-toothed tiger bones, so we know a lot about how they lived.
