Dragonflies are amazing flyers with four long, see-through wings. They can fly forward, backward, and even hover in one spot like a helicopter! Dragonflies have huge eyes that can see in almost every direction. They are some of the fastest insects in the world.
Dragonflies live near ponds, lakes, and streams. They catch tiny bugs like mosquitoes right out of the air while flying. Baby dragonflies live underwater and are called nymphs. When they grow up, they climb out of the water and fly away!
