The rhinoceros is a big, strong animal with thick gray skin. Most people call it a rhino for short. Rhinos have one or two horns on their nose that are made of the same stuff as your fingernails. They might look scary, but rhinos mostly just want to be left alone.
Rhinos live in Africa where they eat grass and leaves. They love to roll around in mud to cool off and keep bugs away. Baby rhinos stay with their moms for a long time to learn how to be safe. Rhinos do not see very well, but they have great hearing and a super sense of smell.
